This website is for members of the National Grid Electricity Group (also known as the ‘NGE Group’ or the ‘Group’).

The Group closed to new members with effect from 1 April 2006. If you joined National Grid or worked for the Company before this date and were (or are) classed as Electricity Transmission staff, you’re likely to be a member of the NGE Group.

During 2022, a small number of members joined the Group from the NGUKPS (the Gas Scheme) due to restructuring with the sponsoring employers.

An update on our pension administrator – Railpen acquired by Broadstone

In July 2025, Railpen, the Group’s administration provider, sold its third-party pensions administration business to a company called Broadstone, an independent UK financial services consultancy, who are now responsible for providing the Group’s administration services.
